I work for loan officer MTG or mortgage broker. He constantly belittles me and after while he has gotten to me. I cry at night because I’m not happy working for him. But at the same time I know that I won’t make the same income somewhere else. I was hired at 19 yrs old and made $30,000/yr. Now I feel trapped because I wonder where am I going to find another job with the same pay. I’m IN Los Angeles, CA. Now I’m 21 yrs and feel a need for a change.I’m tired of being blamed for everything that goes wrong. I wish I knew someone who could mentor me in becoming a loan rep. But I guess that’s for the privileged or just lucky one’s I guess. HELP

Find other mortgage brokers – you have a couple of years experience, and they may be willing to hire you (even at a raise).
Where do you find another job – go to job fairs, or go to broker meetings – or join ryze or other organizations that do networking. Most of my jobs were found through people I knew, not seeing a want ad.
You are not trapped – and honestly, that is not alot of money your’e making, especially for LA – don’t get tied down just for that pittance – there is alot more money out there for you to earn.

Here is the best I can come up with. Look for a new job, if you need to take a small pay cut for a little bit do it. You will be much happier in the end. What means more to you, your happiness or your job. Some employers do that just so that they feel bigger. Tell him how you feel and tell him to stop or go above his head to someone higher than him . No one should be treated that way. I am sure that you can prove yourself to another company and they will apperciate it all. Good Luck.

Sounds like you trying to rationalised why you should stay..money… You need to start respecting yourself first and r
ealize that you are a great person , worker and you do not have to put up with this. You will find another job. -

With the experience that you have try getting a job as an “in-house” Loan Officer so that you are not on straight commission at a bank, or somewhere like Countrywide. Ask your title and escrow reps for names of successful loan originators that may be looking for an assistant. Title reps ALWAYS know the inside scoop on the lenders.

Wow, he sounds like a real jerk! I am sorry to hear that. Maybe you could do what I do. I work from home for a really great company. Since they have full training, prior experience in the field is not an issue. I LOVE what I do. I get to help people everyday and make a good living doing it. It is mostly computer work so you can set your own hours. I would be happy to give you details if you are interested. Many people at my company are making 6 figures after 2-4 years so you could definately replace your current salary. We do have personal mentoring by the way.

I’m a loan officer as well. Please visit the website BrokerOutpost.com. There is a forum called LO training where the seasoned LOs give great advice, free teaching and training, and moral support. It’s like a little family.
